That is, until the late 1900´s when it was decided to build a fine city! As one of the more heavily populated Czech migrations in 1910, many beautiful churches surround Mustang, including one of the oldest in the neighboring town of Yukon. The Chisholm Trail, famous for running heads of cattle from Texas to Kansas, split and passed nearby Mustang. The town is approximately 15 miles from Oklahoma City and was named for the nearby Mustang Creek.
