Welcome to Moore, Oklahoma! Located in Cleveland County, Moore City is the second largest city in the county and ninth largest city in the state of Oklahoma. The city has 21.9 square miles of land. You will have easy access to the Oklahoma City Metro area. Moore is less than twenty minutes from Will Rogers World Airport, Tinker Air Force Base, the University of Oklahoma, and downtown Oklahoma City.

History of Moore, OK
Moore Oklahoma was founded in 1889 during the famous Land Run. As with many small towns, the railroad brought business owners and families to develop their sleepy town.Moore was at first named Verbeck Oklahoma. It was named by the railroad company. However, a gentleman by the name of Al Moore was having difficulty receiving his mail, so he painted his last name on a box car close to where he lived and the post office natually called the town Moore. It stuck and it was legally changed to Moore in 1893. During the 1960’s and 70’s records indicate a huge increase in population and growth was at an all time high. The 80’s and 90’s also showed much growth and today’s population is both business and family oriented. Below is just a short list of some of the many amenities for your education, and leisure.
